How cool are dinosaurs? I’m quite sure that my alternative career path could have been  paleontology. When I was a little girl I was fascinated by dinosaurs and knew all the names of all the different kinds. My favorites were Plesiosaurs and Pterodactyls (which technically isn’t a dinosaur, but still totally awesome). When I saw the wonderful personalized prints by Dinoprints, all the different sides of me were thrilled! First, the dinosaur lover in me, wanted a self portrait on a Pterodactyl. As an interior designer, I believe that your home should reflect your personality, and the same goes with your bedroom. Therefore,I thought it would be cool to wallpaper a child’s room with a huge dinosaur print. As a gift specialist, I love personalized gifts, I believe that it is the key to a great gift, when I saw this I was trying to think of a nephew or niece with an upcoming birthday. My nieces and nephews aren’t into dinosaurs so I’ll have to wait till Eli is a little older. I really wish there were more prehistoric animal options such as a cyber tooth tiger or huge dragonflies (did you know that prehistoric dragonflies were half a meter (1.6 foot) long?? I would love to ride one of those).

Anyways, if you are looking for a cool gift for a Dinosaur loving kid, look no further since this is it!

It’s been such a hectic month!!! I really neglected my blogging duties, but I have a great excuse. Two months ago, I started my own business as an interior designer.  I’s been a wild ride so far, I guess I won’t be able to blog as much as I used to for a little while. But stick around, I promise, I will keep writing about great gift idea’s that will really inspire you. Speaking of inspiration; The previous post I wrote inspired me to write about gifts for princesses. I can’t believe I never thought of this before.

Here are my favorite gifts fit for a princess:

1. Your precious little girl will love to make-believe with these printable Princess masks by BessiePooh.

2. A true princess remains a princess from the minute she wakes up in the morning until… Well, until forever. Just because the sun is down doesn’t mean that the crown should come off. I absolutely adore these Princess Bedding by Snurk.

3. Make your little princess feel like one from the moment she starts her day. With Disney’s princess waffle maker , every breakfast is fit for a princess.

4. This gift is fit for a real princess, and a real princess received it. Baby Ivy Blue is the princess of RNB. For her first birthday she received a gorgeous diamond embedded  Barbie doll.

5. Being a princess isn’t as easy as it seems. Matilda  can tell you all about it, since she comes from the palace where she serves the queen. She writes all the secrets about the palace in her diary. A great gift for a new princess who wants to know all about life in the palace.

6. A princess, whether real or make-believe, needs a palace where she can play and read. I especially love this Princess tent that would serve a young princess for many years of fun and games.

Between you and me, if you feel like a princess, you are a princess. Just remember to wear your invisible crown.

I truly believe in positive thinking. I think it is a great way to achieve the goals in your life, big or small. In the gifting world, wishlists are a great way to turn your dreams into reality. How does it work? All you have to do is  make your wishlist known to the world.

My friend was thinking positively. She posted several times on her Facebook wall, that she would love to get a Cinderella Dress  for her upcoming birthday. Seeing an opportunity to make a wish come true, I arranged a few friends and we got the gift together. It wasn’t simple since the dress that we saw in the store wasn’t the deluxe version presented online. I didn’t want to settle for second best, therefore, I found the dress on Amazon. Unfortunately, shipping to Israel wan’t available. I wasn’t ready to give up and I kept thinking that I can find the exact dress my friend wanted. Luckily, my dad was visiting my grandmother in the states. I shipped the dress there, and he was able to bring it back with him just in time for the birthday party.

This is an excellent example for how positive thinking works. I could have said: “It won’t work”, “It’s too hard”, “I’m never gonna get it”, etc…. But I kept thinking positively and so was my friend. Together, we managed to make this dream of hers come true, Simply by the power of positive thinking.

Look how beautiful she looks in it, a real princess indeed!

I’ve been wanting to start an animal category for some time now… I sort of did an animal bit on Shark Week, and I did do a Fantastic Mr Fox article… But I think I want to start a regular  theme such as color code, dedicated to all you animal lovers. I know I already had a fox article, but I know that there are lots of fox lovers out there in desperate need of a foxy gift. OK OK you got me… I’m the fox freak! But I’m also obsessed with deer so that just might be my next animal article. I searched the web and gathered my top ten foxy gifts. In case you were wondering, 9 and 10 are my personal favorites, what can I say? I’m a girl, I love shoes…

After we established that the gift recipient loves foxes… all that is left is to match the gift to the occasion…

1.  A lovely home decor piece such as this Artwork Plate with a vintage fox illustration, is great as a house warming gift.

2. Did someone get a new job? This cute little Tail Me More Mug is a sweet conversational piece and therefore is great for the office…

3. When thinking of a house warming gift we tend to neglect the outside…Be original with this little Garden Figurine will make a great addition between some garden gnomes.

4. Have a house warming and you want something for the kids room? A lovely Fox Pillow  will work for both genders…

5.Need a stylish gift for a stylish gal? Fox Earrings,For the eternal Fashionista.

6. I love this Fox T for a foxy little boy. It’s a lovely design, I wish it would come in Medium for my man… Then he and my little one can match T’s…

7. A Fox Blouse to go with the lovely Earrings at No 5.

8. Fox iPhone Case for any occasion.

And last but not least…For me… No 9. & No 10. Fox Boots Fox Ballet Flats, Size 6.5 please…

My printer is broken! I really wanted to print out some cool Halloween labels for this DIY Beginners witch kit, but I had to manage without it. However, if you have a working printer, you would be able to find cool Printable labels at Squidoo, and make your own version of this kit.

What you’ll need:

1. Glass tubes.

2. A variety of Halloween treats. I used chocolate googly eyes (Eye of Newt), Gummy worms (Fresh Worms), plastic spiders (Live Spiders) and chocolate milk powder (Graveyard Dust)… However, be creative and I’m sure you’ll find some wonderful ingredients for your kit.

3. A box to wrap it up with some fun Halloween favors that won’t necessarily go inside the tubes.

4. Labels (See link above).

5. Fake spider’s web for decoration.

Put the candy in the tubes and attach the right label, insert the tubes into the box, adding some Halloween favors and decorate with a touch of spider web.

A special thanks to my dad and auntie who went to a Halloween store in the states and brought me all these goodies back to Israel.

When Eli was born, one of my friends asked me what would I want as a gift for him. I asked for some colorful bunting for his room, since she knows how to sew. You know how it goes… She got busy, I didn’t pick the fabric and in the end she started feeling very uncomfortable about it, thinking that I was disappointed of her. This, of course, couldn’t be further from the truth. Why would I be disappointed in a wonderful friend who wanted to make a custom made gift for me??? This is one of the problems I find that a lot of people have with gifts. They fear that one wouldn’t like the gift, or that if they are giving it a long time after the celebration day, that the gift would somehow won’t worth as much as it would if presented on time. In my opinion this is really ridicules! I don’t want people to give me things for the sake of giving. And I don’t want people to be concerned about what they got me or when they gave it to me. There is no expiration date on gift giving and there shouldn’t be. The funny thing is that I still haven’t gave her, her birthday gift since June… I want to make her something special, but I need to find time to do it properly, but that’s a whole other post, and so is this one…

Getting to my point…. I saw a great circus animals craft project by Flamingo Toes and posted about it on Facebook. I received a message from my friend suggesting we get together and make a mobile for Eli, so we scheduled for the next day and had a great morning crafting together. I loved the outcome so much I told my friend that this should be the gift to Eli from her. After all this is more than a gift, it is a wonderful memory.

In the end, the animals came out so cute, I don’t want to “waste” them on a mobile Eli will grow out of… I think I’ll either frame them or use them as box toppers… In any case, I love them!

I’ve been meaning to write another color code post ever since I posted the black and white one. The problem is, there are so many colors, I didn’t know which one to pick (Choices, choices). Then I recalled that at my last shopping spree, after going through all the stuff I got, I realized that I bought mostly blue clothes with gold accessories (isn’t that weird?). SO, why not? Let art imitate life… I’ve decided on Royal blue and gold, a very lively combination that would work for the elegant, yet colorful person. When I started browsing for items, I didn’t think that the roundup will end up being so lovely.

1. For boys, men or dinosaurs fans such as myself. A whimsical planter by crazy couture adds a pop of color to any room. Great as a housewarming gift for a bachelor’s pad.

2. Scarfs are almost always a fun gift, that would fit any woman. I love a scarf that gives a splash of color, you can find this one at Periay’s store on Etsy.

3. Oh jewelry…need I say more? Lovely Peacock bangle by Max&Chole

4. Not quite my style, but what the heck… It’s Miu Miu shoes, in blue or gold glitter.

5. Another one for the boys… A beautiful hot air balloon model.

Have a royal weekend, and remember, Give with love.

My nephew just turned eight and I wanted to be the cool aunt with the cool gift. I knew he was into spiderman but I wasn’t sure if He didn’t grow out of it… So I asked him which superhero he loves best and he said: “you know I love spiderman (duh!) since I love to climb on stuff”. I figured he is old enough to read so I got him some Spiderman comic books.

I wanted to do something more so I used my crafting skills. I bought plain wooden letters (Spelling his name in Hebrew) and wrapped them in spiderman comic paper. Then I put them in a box and warped it with the same paper. You don’t have to do the whole name… The Initials are sufficient… I just felt extra crafty, so I did the whole thing. Yesterday I came to his house and helped him hang the letters on his bedroom door! He wanted to do it himself, so they turned out a little crooked. I think it’s cuter this way… And he was very excited about hanging them by himself.

My mother got him Spiderman Bedding’s which was also a big hit cuz now his room had a quick Spiderman makeover.

This post is unique. usually I write posts that would relate to most people, however this one is dedicated to all Jane Austen fans.

My family is obsessed with Pride and Prejudice, the book and the BBC production. This includes quoting, playing the music from the series on the piano and getting excited over anything that has to do with Jane. My dear cousin, who works at a book store, found this amazing Pride and Prejudice counting book for Eli.

During our time in Michigan we had so much fun reading it since we were all adding funny quotes from the series/book :

For instance for number four- Four marriage proposals, we imitated Mrs Bennet:

“Oh! Mr. Bennet, you are wanted immediately; we are all in an uproar. You must come and make Lizzy marry Mr. Collins, for she vows she will not have him, and if you do not make haste he will change his mind and not have her.”

Mr. Bennet raised his eyes from his book as she entered, and fixed them on her face with a calm unconcern which was not in the least altered by her communication.

“I have not the pleasure of understanding you,” said he, when she had finished her speech. “Of what are you talking?”

“Of Mr. Collins and Lizzy. Lizzy declares she will not have Mr. Collins, and Mr. Collins begins to say that he will not have Lizzy.”

“And what am I to do on the occasion?—It seems an hopeless business.”

And for number six- Six horses we imitate Mr. Collins:

“We dine at Rosings twice every week, and are never allowed to walk home. Her ladyship’s carriage is regularly ordered for us. I should say, one of her ladyship’s carriages, for she has several.”

If you are laughing out loud, congratulations, you are a Jane Austen freak and probably related to me (Hi dad!). If not, you are welcome to watch the wonderful six hours of the BBC series and join the club.

The counting book is wonderful, it is funny and well illustrated. I wish that numbers- six (Horses), Seven (Men in uniform) and eight (Musicians), were different and less general. Number ten blew me away… I don’t want to spoil for those of you who love Jane Austen and would like to purchase the book, so I won’t say another word…

If you are not a member of the Austen club, the author Jennifer Adams, has other whimsical coloring and counting books. A great way to introduce a little baby to the classics.

I’m always happy to know when my blog is an inspiration to someone. My friend sent me a photo of a clock inspired by the Quality time article I published a few months back. She personalized it by using a photo of Cookie Monster (Apparently that was their thing).

I’m glad she was able to use an idea featured in my blog but personalize it for her friend and I really love the way she placed the hands on Cookie monsters eyes, very whimsical.
